America SCORES New York (SCORES) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that inspires youth to lead healthy lifestyles and be engaged students through a unique combination of poetry, service-learning and soccer.

The Inspired Art Project takes poems written by SCORES students and asks local artists to create original works inspired by their words. The artists’ pieces are featured in an exhibition and auction event, with proceeds supporting the America SCORES New York after school program. See the world through the eyes and words of New York City youth. Be inspired by their sentiments, their humor, and their insight. Be a part of this unique project – an interplay between verse and vision, between young poets and local artists.

When do children get a chance?
I think and blink, I gaze and I wonder.

When will we be officers or doctors or rappers?
Can we make history?
Whatever race we are, we can do anything.

We are now accepting registration for artists wishing to participate in New York’s first Inspired Art Project, a charity art show and auction featuring works by artists, drawing inspiration from poems by students served by America SCORES New York.
